Knowledge can help with decisions. Understanding helps us apply it to the right question. Information can give you an edge. Wisdom gives you stability. You may know all the numbers, all the facts, all the theories. But if you don’t know what the essence is, you can easily lose focus. Better judgment comes not only from the amount of data, but also from the ability to distinguish what is important from what is merely grabbing our attention at the moment.

In an age overwhelmed by information, real power lies in filtering—in the ability to say, “This is important; that is not.”

That’s the difference between those who constantly react and those who act strategically.
