Forget that obsession with results.
Life doesn’t go according to plan. It never has. There will be mistakes. There will be setbacks. There will be moments when you’ll wonder what on earth you’re doing.
Here’s the catch many don’t want to admit: the more you tie your happiness to a specific result, the more you become its slave.
Because what if you don’t achieve it—or worse, what if you do achieve it… only to realize it’s not what you wanted? Trying to meet everyone’s expectations easily pushes aside what’s important to us.
No two people are exactly alike, so why are we all chasing the same model of success? That race has no finish line, just another step up the ladder. There will always be someone faster, smarter, richer, louder. If you play that game, you’ve already lost because you can never “get there.” Instead, accept one simple truth: every decision comes at a cost.
When you choose one thing, you give up another. That’s not a problem—it’s freedom.
Only then do you begin to define what is truly yours: what success means to you, what wealth means to you, what peace means to you.
External standards can be useful for comparison, but they don’t have to be the goal around which we organize our entire lives.
