Promotion can bring better earnings, more important tasks and room for development. It can also bring many new obligations without a clear agreement on powers and support. That's why it's worth evaluating it beyond the title of the role.

What will our job be? What will we be able to decide? Who takes over the responsibilities we had before? How do salary, working hours and responsibility for the result change?

If these answers are not clear, they should be discussed before acceptance. It is not enough to promise that we will now be more important to the company. It is important that the conditions allow us to actually do the new work.

Sometimes it's worth taking on a more difficult task for the knowledge and opportunities it opens up. Sometimes the offer doesn't match what we need right now. The decision can be carefully considered in either case, without declaring each new title a prize or a scam.
