A product, service, or brand image can quickly be replicated on the market. Therefore, we cannot assess a company’s value solely based on what competitors see from the outside.
Relationships between people matter, too: whether they can rely on one another, how they report mistakes, what they do when they promise a client something, and how they share responsibility when the work gets hard.
Such a relationship isn’t inherited along with the product’s design or a process model. It develops through daily practices, through fulfilled agreements, and through the experience that rules apply even when it would be easier for someone to circumvent them.
Therefore, when we consider what sets our company apart from others, it’s worth looking at what people within it can expect from one another. If a reliable relationship underpins the product, the result has a more stable foundation.
