There is an interesting difference between knowledge and wisdom. Knowledge often makes you confident in what you say. Wisdom often makes you cautious. Knowledge provides answers. Wisdom asks questions. Knowledge likes to show how much it knows. Wisdom knows how much more there is to learn. That is why we often see the paradox of our times.
There has never been more information. Yet there has rarely been more superficiality. Today, it’s easy to know a lot. But it’s much harder to understand. Perhaps that’s why true wisdom has become rare. Because wisdom requires something the modern world doesn’t like: silence, patience, and deep reflection.
Taking the time to ask a question is worth it before rushing to show that we have the answer.
