I believe that it makes sense to invest effort in what is important to us. The decisions we repeat every day affect skills, relationships and work, even when the result is not immediately visible.

However, commitment is not a promise that we will get everything we want. The outcome also depends on circumstances, other people and opportunities that are not equally available to us. That is why someone else's failure should not be interpreted as proof that they did not try hard enough.

I can attach responsibility to the part I choose: preparation, acting fairly and willingness to fix something. Such a measure leaves room for ambition without claiming that every consequence is only the result of one's will.
