During generational transitions, stagnation can easily set in: the more experienced do not want to relinquish responsibility, while the younger generation waits for recognition before being given the chance to demonstrate their capabilities.
Experience alone does not justify keeping every decision with the same person forever. Yet new energy alone does not guarantee a better solution. Both sides have something that simply needs to be tested through work.
That’s why how we transfer responsibility matters more to me than who steps aside first. Does the younger person get the space to make decisions and own the outcome? Can the more experienced person pass on what they know without reclaiming control the moment someone does things differently?
Such a change requires both trust and verification. If we simply wait for one generation to step aside on its own and the other to prove itself, we may be left without a real transfer of knowledge and responsibility for a long time.
