The desire to be accepted by people easily starts to govern our decisions. We silence disagreement, accept an obligation we cannot fulfill, or soften our stance until it remains only what is pleasing to everyone.
Other people's opinions are worth listening to. Criticism sometimes shows an omission that we do not see ourselves. But the need to please everyone requires us to constantly change the standard, because people expect different things from us.
The attitude towards others is seen in respect, trustworthiness and readiness to hear the answer. Our own attitude can also be seen in what we do not agree to. When we promise more than we can deliver for the sake of acceptance, we end up damaging the relationship we wanted to preserve.
