A new environment, country, or project can indeed bring better conditions. Not every desire for change is an escape from oneself.
Are we repeating the same vague agreement in our new job? Are we setting boundaries too late again? Are we still counting on a promise we haven’t verified?
The outcome can help us recognize such a pattern, but it is not a complete assessment of our character. Circumstances, other people, and events we did not choose also influence it.
Change, therefore, may require both: better external conditions and a different way of acting within them. One does not exclude the other.
Relocating alone won’t solve every problem, nor will a change in beliefs force the outside world to adapt to us. It’s more helpful to figure out what we can actually do differently in a new situation.
