I’m seeing more and more arrogance. Condescension. A condescending attitude. And every time, the same story: “You know what I’ve been through…” As if pain were an automatic license for bad behavior. As if sleepless nights were a license to look down on others as inferior. As if success erased the basics: being human.
It’s especially unpleasant when that attitude comes from someone who once spoke out against humiliation. And yet, along the way… they’ve become just the same. Today, results are rewarded, not character. You get a title faster than a conscience. Money faster than integrity. And then you end up with “successful” people who talk about values but apply them only when it suits them.
We don’t need to know why someone behaves this way to say that their difficult experiences do not justify humiliating others.
Truly strong people don’t raise their voices. They don’t prove themselves. They don’t trample on others to confirm their own worth. They simply… remain human.
And perhaps what we lack most today is precisely this: people who are accessible to others. Without calculation. Without a hidden agenda. Without the need to get something in return.
That’s why this isn’t a story about them.
This is a question that will confront everyone at some point: When you finally have it all, will you still have enough left to remain human?
