Today, people are quick to judge one another. All it takes is for someone to think differently, live differently, or make a decision they don’t understand, and they’re immediately labeled as wrong.
Many don’t even try to understand a person. It’s enough for them to judge that person by their own standards and condemn them simply because they don’t fit into those standards.
Such judgments let us forget that we don’t have the whole story. Condemnation is easy because it requires only a superficial conclusion. Understanding asks us to pause, listen, and accept that we may not know the whole story. That’s why people judge so quickly.
Sometimes asking one more question is more helpful than ending the conversation with a judgment.
