Talks about a fairer society often end with picking a new name for the system. As if a different label alone could fix the concentration of power, inequality, and accountability.

To me, it’s more important how power will be limited. Who can review decisions? How do the people who bear the consequences participate in them? What happens when those in charge make mistakes or abuse their position for personal gain?

Individual responsibility matters, but it cannot replace rules and institutions. It is not enough to expect everyone to be modest and honest if the system rewards abuse.

That is why I would not measure change solely by new rhetoric. I would measure it by whether people have more real influence, protection, and opportunities to make a living from their work. These are standards that should be applied to any system.
