We’ve long had everything a small country needs to succeed: nature, location, resources, and people. What we lack is a system that turns these into real value. And that’s why we keep going around in circles: we talk about opportunities, but we live below our potential.
We need a government that knows how to: elevate tourism, turn energy into a strategic advantage, put the north back on the development map, link agriculture to domestic production and the market, and turn digitalization into a tool for efficiency, not just a buzzword.
We are a small country that cannot afford complacency.
We cannot rely solely on the tourist season. We cannot possess great natural wealth yet deliver poor performance. We cannot keep talking about potential year after year while failing to produce serious results.
In short, Montenegro doesn’t need more stories. It needs more order. More continuity. More competence. More seriousness. Because the path Montenegro should take is neither east nor west—it’s not some empty political slogan. It’s the path of a serious country. A country that knows what it has. Knows what it wants.
And knows how to turn its wealth into development. Anything less is a waste of time.
Until we grasp this, we will remain a land of great wealth and too little development.
