We can be good at a job that no longer interests us. It's embarrassing to admit, especially when we've invested years into it and others expect us to continue.
Before making a big decision, you should distinguish long-term discord from fatigue or a bad period. What bothers us at work? Is there a possibility of changing tasks, work methods or conditions? What would we actually like to do?
Changing direction has a cost and not everyone can do it right away. However, we can start preparing: talking, studying or checking other possibilities. Staying out of necessity and staying without questioning are not the same decision.
