While working on an important goal, failure, withdrawal and the pressure of new obligations can alternate. From this we cannot derive mandatory stages that everyone must go through, nor a promise that a result will come after them.
Humiliation, loneliness and exhaustion should be taken seriously. They are not a confirmation that we are progressing just because we endure them. We need to check what causes them and what kind of change we can make.
Persistence makes sense with assessment. Does the job give a better result today? Do we have the support and conditions to continue? What should be reduced or stopped? The goal should guide our decisions, not justify every difficulty we accept along the way.
