A book, a course and a business plan can prepare a person for work. However, knowledge remains incomplete until we try to apply it and see how it works in real circumstances.

The first step doesn't have to be a big risk. A conversation with a few potential customers, a limited offer or a trial version of the service may give a more concrete answer than another round of preparation. It is important to determine in advance what we are checking with that attempt.

The leader should also show how the results of the check are handled. If the attempt fails, responsibility includes analyzing and changing the decision. The team learns more from such an example than from the requirement to be brave without clear limits of risk.
