There were times when I thought I was behind everyone. Other people's visible successes seemed finished, while I saw my own work through questions that I had not yet resolved. Such a comparison did not give a fair picture.
In those periods, I learned more about my own expectations. Part of the pressure came from deadlines that I did not choose myself, but accepted as if there was a common schedule for life.
Today, it is more important for me to understand what I am trying to achieve and under what conditions. It doesn't remove the disappointment, but it provides a more useful direction than constantly checking how far someone else has come. Peace and dignity have a place even in a period without publicly visible success.
