The job we once chose may remain a good choice, but it is worth checking whether the reasons for it are still valid. The market, our knowledge and private commitments may no longer be the same.
A useful question is what would we choose if we were starting today with the experience we already have. The answer may indicate a new opportunity, a need to learn, or a part of the current job that we want to keep.
Such thinking does not require resigning immediately. It can lead to a conversation, a small project or getting to know another area. A career change should include a realistic assessment of income, obligations and time for preparation, so that the choice has a sustainable basis.
