When one team completes its part of the task, the other may not immediately be able to continue. Information, tools or confirmation may be missing right at the point of handover, so the stoppage is repeated even though everyone is working quickly.

Improvement should begin by reviewing that link. What must the next team get, when and from whom? Which jobs can run concurrently, and which are subject to a mandatory check?

Speed should not be obtained by bypassing safety checks or constantly pressuring employees. A clearer handover can eliminate waiting without such a price. It is important to evaluate the entire process, rather than requiring each individual to simply speed up their part.
