Someone else's schedule of life stages easily becomes the rule by which we judge ourselves. We are supposedly too late for something, or should already have completed something, and it's not even polite to talk about a new beginning. Age then closes the conversation before we look at the possibility.

A later choice carries experience and obligations. Changing jobs, learning or a new project has a price in time, money and attention. That price deserves a serious evaluation, alongside what we can carry forward from earlier work.

A new beginning can be gradual and based on what we have been building. The decision is determined by the actual conditions and the sense we see in it. The year of birth alone is not a sufficient explanation to give up on something before we have considered it.
