A subscription changes the relationship between individual purchase and regular use of the service. It can give the user a predictable cost, and the provider a more stable picture of demand. However, this does not mean that every such deal is favorable.

It should be clearly shown what is included, what is extra and how easy it is to cancel the subscription. If the benefit relies on frequent additional purchases, the user should understand that part of the cost as well.

For the business, actual use and satisfaction matter more than the habit of paying. A subscription has a more sustainable basis when a person can explain why they keep it, with the freedom to cancel it without unnecessary obstacles.
