When I go to a familiar restaurant, I often order the same thing because it suits me. I don't see a problem with that habit. It's different when I stick with a choice that no longer suits me just because the unknown repels me.

The difference can be checked with a simple question: am I holding onto something because of its quality or because of the fear of change? The answer doesn't have to lead to a big decision right away.

If I want a change, I can assess the risk and start with a smaller attempt. It is important to understand what I can lose, how I will limit it and when I will check the result. A new opportunity doesn't have to require a reckless leap to be worth trying.
