In a tense moment, speed easily becomes proof of ability. Someone immediately says the answer and the conversation calms down, although the most important questions are not yet open. The decision begins to serve the need for the discomfort to pass as soon as possible.

Composure gives a different order: what we know, what is missing, who takes responsibility and how much time we have. People work more easily when they understand that order, even if the answer is not yet complete. Uncertainty becomes more tolerable when it is clear how we will clarify it.

There are decisions that require immediate reaction. There are also decisions for which speed only masks poor preparation. A responsible person distinguishes between these two moments and is able to explain why it is time for action or for another question.
