A full schedule can seem to confirm that we are doing well. However, the number of meetings and messages does not in itself say what was completed or who was helped by our work.
We need to examine the connection between activities and results. Which commitment really contributes to the business? What is repeated unnecessarily? Do we have time for a task that requires concentration but keeps being pushed aside by urgent demands?
This does not mean that every overburdened person chooses their priorities badly. Sometimes the problem is the amount of work the organization assigns. But where we can decide, it is useful to evaluate what we have done, instead of offering as the main proof of commitment the fact that we did not have a free moment.
