We easily get used to having to produce something every hour. And we begin to evaluate talking, walking or reading according to the benefits that we will show later. What does not have a clear result remains last in line.
Curiosity needs room where we don't yet know what it will serve. We follow a thought, listen to a person or dwell on a question that has nothing to do with the current task. Such time has value even before it becomes a business or a plan.
Obligations limit that space and we do not all have it equally. That is exactly why it is worth noting when we turn even rare free moments into a new performance check. A life that constantly has to justify its usefulness leaves little room for what interests us.
