The call to continue may be well-intentioned, but still fail to account for what we can manage today. People who encourage us often do not see the full weight of our obligations and earlier effort.

We can express gratitude for the support and clearly state what we need. A smaller task, another deadline, or help can keep things going better than another demand to be stronger.

Fatigue should not be turned into a proof of weakness, but also not into a special achievement. It is important to estimate the capacity fairly enough to make the promise achievable. Sometimes the next step is work, sometimes a conversation about conditions, and sometimes a break that preserves the possibility to continue later.
