Trust begins with a small agreement that we fulfill. If we say when we'll get back to you, what kind of result we can offer, or what's included in the price, the other party has a basis to check our word.
When we cannot fulfill something, we should say so in time. An explanation does not remove the consequences, but it allows the person to adjust their decision before the problem becomes bigger.
However, trust is not the only reason why someone buys or rejects an offer. Need, conditions and possibilities are also important. Our part is to make sure that what we promise is clear and fair, without the expectation that this in itself will guarantee us a sale.
