A vague decision can occupy the mind for a long time without real progress. We return to the same possibilities, but we do not distinguish what we know from what we assume. Thinking becomes another form of procrastination.

When we clearly say or write down the problem, it's easier to see what's missing. One conversation, piece of information or condition sometimes clarifies more than new rounds of thought. Some possibilities then cease to be real, and others acquire a clear cost.

And waiting is a decision when we know why we are waiting and until when. Without that, the unresolved question gradually shapes our daily life for us. Clarity does not mean that we have removed all uncertainty. It means that we know on what basis we choose the next step.
